Simple steps to move your website to Ezoic Free WordPress Hosting.

Do you want to switch to Ezoic’s free WordPress hosting from your current host?

If yes, following the instructions in this guide will help you move your website to Ezoic’s free WordPress hosting. This method worked great, and I’d welcome your feedback in the comments section. I used it to move one of my sites and helped two of my friends move their sites.

There are several factors to consider when deciding whether to move a website to Ezoic Hosting.

Origin problems, which are frequently linked to shared hosting that doesn’t whitelist Ezoic IPs, could be the cause. My website was previously hosted on Namecheap and Bluehost shared hosting before I moved it.

Another element would be the need for a free hosting provider, especially for more recent websites approved by the Ezoic Access Now Program. Younger websites often receive less traffic, which results in small earnings. You could increase your earnings and cut your hosting costs by using Ezoic WordPress hosting.

The site is backed up using the Updraft plugin, a staging site is created on the Ezoic end, the files are restored, and finally the site is made live on the Ezoic hosting.

Step 1: Download and install the Updraft plugin.

Log in to the WordPress admin page, click plugins on the left sidebar, add new, and then search for the Updraft Plus plugin, install, and activate the plug-in.

Following activation, navigate to settings on the left navigation bar and select the Updraftplus backups tab. Then, as explained in the following step, you’ll set up remote storage.

Step 2: Configure your remote storage.

Why create remote storage? Remote storage is essential because it is where the files will be stored after backup, making it easier to restore them. There are numerous remote storage options available for storing your files; some are free, while others require a paid version.

Setting up your remote storage

Scroll down to the section that says “Prompts you to Authenticate with Google,” click the link next to it, and then connect your Google Drive account.

After successfully linking your Google Drive, scroll down and click Save settings.

Step 3: Make a backup of your website.

Still, select the Backup/Restore tab on the Updraftplus dashboard and click back up now, as shown below.

A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to choose what you want to include in your backup. It is recommended that you select all of the options, including allowing the Backup to be manually deleted.

After the backup has been successfully completed, proceed to the next step below.

Step 4: Configure Ezoic Hosting

Note: If you don’t see the “Get started” button, make sure the site is monetized and integrated using cloudflare or Nameservers.

Log in to your ezoic account; scroll down to the WordPress Hosting section and click Get Started.

Select Create New Site on the following page. You’ll be taken to another page where you can choose Create a staging site.

The following page should resemble the one below. Choose the preview site, and it is from here that you will restore the files we backed up in step three, as explained below.

Step 5: Restore the files from the staging site.

Following the preview site, you will be directed to another, as shown below. If you have an installed SSL certificate. Turn on ‘My site uses HTTPS’ and preview.

Install WordPress and enter your WordPress login information as well as your admin email address. The information should be similar to what you use to log in to your WordPress admin.

Check the box that says “Prevent search engines from indexing this site” and then click install.

After the installation is complete, go to the admin URL provided and log in to your WordPress site. The site will be blank, and you must now restore the files that were backed up in step three. To restore your website files, follow the steps below.

  • On the blank site, install and activate the Updraftplus plugin.
  • Hover your mouse over ‘Settings’ on the left sidebar and select ‘Updraft Backups’.
  • Select the settings tab from the Updraft dashboard and then click Google Drive under remote storage.
  • Connect the account you designated as remote storage in step 2 and save the settings.
  • Scroll down and click Rescan remote storage under the Backup/Restore tab (it will help retrieve all your backed up files)
  • Wait until the process is complete and successful before clicking restore.

That’s all there is to it. Before you go live, double-check that everything on your site is identical to the prior one.
Check your posts, your plugin settings, and any other pertinent features on the site.
You can now activate the site by going to the Ezoic hosting option. Ezoic Free WordPress Hosting now hosts the site.

After you’ve transferred your website, you’ll need to complete the following.

Check to see if Ezoic DNS is printed on your site. If you’re unsure, contact Ezoic support and they’ll look into it for you.

To avoid issues, double-check that the SSL certificate is up to date. If you don’t have an HTTPS redirect, install the SSL app under ezoic settings and enable it.

Other Techniques:

Apart from using Updraft, there are additional options for migrating your website’s hosting. Other plugins to consider are All-in-One WP Migration, BackWPup, and any FTP client like Filezilla.

You can transfer your site via SFTP Transfer instead of building a new site if you have an SFTP account on your current server. This method is simple, albeit it may not be possible with some hosts because they all utilize FTP.
