Education by Bella Shmurda
Bella got accepted into the Lagos State University (LASU) to study history and international relations after completing his primary and secondary studies in Lagos State. Bella is enrolled in the institution’s 400-level final year and will shortly graduate with his first degree.

Bella’s Career Beginnings

At the early age of 16, Bella Shmurda started recording his tracks at home in 2013. His mother was dubious about what the Nigerian entertainment industry had in store for him during his early years. She nonetheless permitted him to record his songs, although with certain restrictions.

He made his debut in the Nigerian music scene in 2019 with “Vision 2020,” a song about his time working hard to support his family while going to school. Pocolee, a top-notch dancer from Nigeria, was instrumental in spreading awareness of this song and making it popular.

Olamide, a well-known Nigerian hip-hop artist, was so taken with “Vision 2020” that he approached Shmurda about working on a remix together. The resulting video quickly gained popularity.

After the remixed version of Vision 2020 became viral, Shmurda and well-known Nigerian rapper Zlatan collaborated on the 2019 single “One Touch.” Additionally, he worked with Yoruba rapper Mohbad to create the tracks Adura and Bye Bye to Poverty (BB2P).

His 2020 EP, High Tension, received approximately 40 million streams on Audiomack and peaked at number 3 on the Nigerian Apple Music Top 100 chart. Since that time, Bella has contributed vocals to songs by Nigerian musicians like Harteez, Runtown, and G-Swagg.

His stage name Bella Shmurda was derived from his given name, “Abiola”. Everyone called him Bella, but because Bobby Shmurda is his favorite musician, his nickname evolved into his stage name Bella Shmurda.

Career of Bella Shmurda

Breakthroughs

Ojo Sneh, Olamide’s PA, approached Bella. He was informed that Olamide had heard his recently released single and was interested in working with him on a remix. Bella couldn’t believe what he was hearing, so he simply scheduled an appointment for the next day.

He described how, after getting that call, he began calling his friends and relatives while yelling “Moti Blow Moti Blow.” in an interview with PMNewsNigeria. He went to Olamide Baddo’s flat the following day to work on the song, but Bella had misplaced the data for the original version, so they had to start from scratch with a new beat.

Olamide was incredibly friendly and helped the young man become famous. Olamide paid ID Cabasa, a producer, to create a fresh beat for the remix version. He was in charge of all the financial aspects of that remix. That was the crucial turning point Bella required.

Bella has released new songs including “Dangbana Orisa” and “CashApp” since the release of Vision 2020 the remix. Bella’s kind of music, which he refers to as “The Conscious Sound,” appeals to any young person who is attempting to carve a niche for themselves. Bella serves as a constant reminder that what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger as he weaves his personal experiences into his work.

Bella is a gifted person with a beautiful voice. But his rise to stardom was the result of his constant, unrelenting labor.
