About The University
University of Cross River State also known as UNICROSS is a state-owned tertiary institution with four campuses spread across four Local Government Areas of the state. The University was formerly known as the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH). It was renamed in February of 2021 by a bill passed at Cross River State House of Assembly which was then approved by the Governor of the State, Benedict Ayade. The change of the tertiary institution’s name was to enable the varsity function as a conventional University, which provides the opportunity to offer more professional courses rather focusing on tech-related courses.

CRUTECH Admission Requirements For 2023/2024
Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into CRUTECH through JAMB (UTME):
- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.
- You must choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. Check JAMB Brochure!
- Candidates must score at least 180 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to be offered admission into the Cross River State University of Science & Technology, Calabar.
- You Must Participate in CRUTECH POST UTME/SCREENING to be considered for admission if any for the year.
- Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
- Additional requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry-level at the school website when you are about to obtain the post-UTME form.
CRUTECH Admission Requirements For Direct Entry (DE) 2023/2024
Below are the requirements for candidates who wish to gain admission into Cross River State University of Science & Technology, Calabar CRUTECH through Direct Entry:
- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.
- Candidates must have ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in two subjects that are related to their area of study.
- JUPEB/A’ Level passes in Related subjects.
- Degree (First Class/Second Class Upper) in related fields for your course of choice.
- Direct entry candidates are required to purchase the CRUTECH Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) And CRUTECH Portal.
- A minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), and other Advanced Level Certificates.
- Additional requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry-level at the school website when you are about to obtain the post-UTME form.
